Signed, sealed, delivered: New direct-to-consumer site for BookSource
Late June saw the launch of a new eCommerce website for the Glasgow-based book distributor, BookSource, with the site going live under the url mybooksource.com.
The new platform represents the culmination of many months of discussion, planning, co-ordination and implementation – providing, as it does, a fresh new retail outlet for their wide range of client publishers, showcasing titles in a variety of physical and digital formats – and audio CDs to boot.
It’s a smart move from the distribution team, and – backed by their blossoming publisher clientele, as well as Publishing Scotland – should quickly bring customers in through the virtual doors, and provide an alternative to the mainstream book retail channels.
From our own perspective at Firsty, it’s been a real joy working with the team in Cambuslang. There’s a noticeable growing trend within book distribution to move towards direct retail – and it makes perfect sense: the stock is readily available in physical format, and eBook logistics is instantaneous.
